Intertune Acquires PayPerHost

I am very pleased to announce the acquisition of PayPerHost web hosting clients by Intertune, Inc.

When we created PayPerHost, it was one of the most innovative and technologically advanced web hosting platforms in the world. We quickly became the #1 destination for shared pay-as-you-go web hosting. Our innovative pricing model was ahead of the time and greatly benefited customers, since they no longer had to pay for unused data.

We were doing a great job as a innovative and tech-driven company. But we realized we were lagging in marketing, sales and client support. We were a bunch of coders and linux admins and these things were never our core competencies. Our partner and client, Intertune, was very quick to realize the full potential of PayPerHost. After lengthly due diligence we made sure Intertune would be a great fit for the future of PayPerHost.

We are happy to let you know that nothing will change with your pricing and the superb hosting that you are used to.

As part of the transition, I am glad to announce the following:

* Key members of PayPerHost will stay on and work for Intertune.
* Intertune will soon be expanding the PayPerHost offering to include an additional location in Western Europe (France), where you may add PayPerHost accounts.
* Intertune has 24/7 helpdesk staff which will respond to most support requests within 2-4 hours, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Intertune started as a web hosting company in the year 2000. Throughout the years the company has offered many services such as shared and dedicated hosting, email security and consulting. It has worked with small organizations that rely on their expertise, as well as large organizations doing tens of millions of dollars in business per year.

We assure you that there will be no interruption in service during the transition. Also there will be no changes in where your accounts are hosted as Intertune has agreed to purchase and maintain the existing PayPerHost infrastructure in Miami, Florida (US) and Slovakia (EU).

Thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing Intertune continue to expand the pay-as-you-go hosting model we pioneered a couple years ago.

mail1.americas1 IP change

One of our e-mail server’s IP got blacklisted with no fault on our own. Our data center provider has resolved the issue with the client but could not remove the black listing of the entire network. Therefore we have been assigned a new IP network.

Being on IP black list means that some e-mail servers are not accepting e-mails from our server mail1.americas1.secure22.com.

On July 14, 2017 at 01:00 am UTC+0 we are going to change the IP from 155.94.214.69 to 96.47.224.122.

Since both IPs will work simultaneously at least for a week we do not expect any down time.

If you use our DNS servers there is no action required by you, we will change all the DNS records for you. If you use non-payperhost DNS servers, please update the corresponding DNS records.

Thank you

MySQL upgrade on all of our web servers

We have some good news!

We will be upgrading our MySQL database servers this weekend from version 5.5 to 5.6.

We believe there are no backward compatibility issues for our customers. If you are interested in more details, please consult the MySQL upgrading page: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/upgrading-from-previous-series.html

We expect less than 10 minute downtime on Sunday early morning between 1am to 2am UTC+0 time.

New version is better suited for some popular plugins and frameworks.

Thank you for enjoying the best web hosting deal on the market.

Hurricane Matthew may affect our services

PayPerHost continues to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew as it continues to track through the Caribbean. Based on the latest forecasts, we are expecting hurricane conditions in the area of our Miami data center.

What services may be affected:

  • Web hosting in the Miami data center,
  • admin panels,
  • customer support.

Services located in the European data center should not be affected.

The PayPerHost team.

Introducing RoboNodes – Fully autonomous, ultra dense, ultra efficient data center of the future

We are extremely excited that we can share with you what we have been working on for the last year.

robonodes-gif2

As you know, we at PayPerHost have a good track record of innovation. We were the first in the world to disrupt the web hosting market by delivering a truly pay-as-you-go pricing which slashed the prices of web hosting. We also delivered unique features such as End-to-end data protection, 100% MySQL data in RAM and 180 backups as standard.

But today we are announcing our biggest innovation yet.

In today’s data centers, cold air is pumped into the server room and thousands of small fans in the servers are moving the air thought the servers. The hot air coming out of the server is lost by mixing with the cold air. In better cases there are cold&hot isles, but it is still far from being efficient.

The server rack is more than 50 years old. And we decided it is time for the rack to retire.

Free LetsEncrypt SSL certificates for all our customers!

We are happy to announce that starting from today all our customers can get free SSL certificates for all domains that are hosted with us.

Having your web site secured with https has many advantages, including better SEO. Search engines such as Google and Bing give secured web sites a priority in their search results.

We believe that all web sites should be encrypted. Providing SSL certificates for free will greatly help to achieve this goal.

PayPerHost low cost pricing offers the best value for you and not having to pay for SSL certificates will lover your expenses even more.

How to enable LetsEncrypt SSL on your domain?

  1. Login to our admin panel at admin.payperhost.com
  2. Nqavigate to the domain list
  3. Click on the SSL icon

Please note that enabling SSL will do not automatically redirect your visitors to the https version.

How to redirect your visitors to the https version in WordPress?

  1. Once you have your SSL certificate generated, login to your wordpress
  2. Navigate to Settings -> General
  3. Change http:// to https:// in both the WordPress Address and Site Address
  4. Install plugin WordPress Force HTTPS. The plugin requires no configuration
  5. Reset your page cache plugin (only if you use some)

Why I do not see the lock icon in the address bar?

If you are on the encrypted (https://) version of your web site and you do not see the lock icon, it means that some of your content such as an image, css or js file is loaded from unsecured (http://) location. Make sure that all your web site resources are loaded from secure locations.

To investigate which files are causing the mixed content problem, open your web browser developer tools and look for errors and warnings.

Why I do not see the green address bar?

Free domain validated certificates will only display a lock icon in the address bar.

Green address bar require Extended validation certificates. Those are the most expensive certificates and you must validate your physical address and identity.

To get the green bar certificate, please contact our support and we will be happy to assist you.
